Volleyball competition program at ABCD Project, Nuwakot on VDC level is going to organize on 25 February, 2012 at Talakhu, Chhap & Likhu VDCs and 27 February, 2012 on Sikre & Mahakali VDCs where 45 teams will be participating in competition and finally 5 VDCs winner team will be selected for area level Volley ball Match.
Awareness through mobile ring tone

The major use of mobile is observed to; listen music, play ringbones, capture video and photographs, which is often meant for entertainment. To link this entertainment with sensitization and awareness rising, a team of Share and Care registered an awareness song[i] on human trafficking in Namaste, N cell and UTL ring tone list. Those who set up this ring tone will be sensitizing people who make them call through their ring tone song. It is expected that number of people from community, stakeholder and line agencies will be informed through the song.

Bishnu Maya’s Story
36 years old Bishnu maya, lives in Ajingare, Hadikhola VDC Ward no.6 in Makwanpur District. There are seven members in her family. Her economic condition is not well due to her husband’s poor health.She has gone Lebnan for foreign employment 2 years ago through local agent for better work and income. She spent Rs.65, 000/- to reach there. Due to lack of education and language problem she had spend very hard time there.

1Introduction:
Share and Care Nepal is a registered organization working primarily for the upliftment of the most needy people in remote and urban areas of Nepal. Over the past 17 years SCN has been involved in conducting various short term courses for its own community, staff as well as outsiders. While serving the communities as enabler and facilitator, we have learned many practical aspects of community development management. There were requests from individuals and organizations as well as local churches to formalize our short term training programs. In response to these requests we have designed a Diploma Course on Community Development Management. It is expected that the capacity of individuals, organizations and Churches will be strengthened in community development initiatives. We would also like to encourage and inspire the process of adopting best development practices by all involved in community development.
2Professionalism in Community Development Management:
Professionalism is yet to be obviously seen in facilitating transformational change in the community. Sporadic intervention and unplanned activity implementation approach renders less effective services and results. There is a great need for social and community development workers to strengthen knowledge and skills required to facilitate change in community. However bringing about transformation requires high level of professionalism and providing quality services. Therefore training in community development management needs foster professionalism in community development management.
3The need for transformational development training:
Facilitating change in needy communities is a challenging issues, it requires deep knowledge, commitment and wide ranging experience. Through training conceptual clarification and related experience can be obtained. Transformation refers to facilitating change in all aspects such as physical, mental, social, economical, emotional and spiritual areas of life. Such changes are meaningful and lasting and contributes to sustainable development in communities. The training will enhance knowledge and skills related to facilitating transformational development.
4Purpose of the training:
The training program is to equip the community development workers with adequate knowledge and skill in community development. The theoretical knowledge and practical experience gained by the participants will enhance their professional competence for effective implementation of the community development programs. The training will ensure that learning opportunities will preferably be given to female participants and participants from remote areas.
5The Uniqueness of the training Program:
The training will offer academic experience as well as practical experience in the field. There will also be opportunities to learn from one another and interact deeply with vulnerable communities in different context.

7Who will benefit from the training:
All those who intend to work with rural/urban communities and desire to facilitate transformational change in the community would benefit from the training. The staffs at the program implementation level as well as program management level would also benefit from the program.
8Duration of the training:
The duration of the training will be for a period of one year. The entire training is divided in four phases. In phase one participant will attend residential course for a period of two and half months. In the second phase the participants will be placed in their respective NGO’s who have sponsored them. This placement will be for a period of 9 months. During this placement period the participants will be given assignments and will be expected to implement the concepts they have learnt during the residential course. The third phase would be follow up with the participants as they implement their learning in their projects. Their learning will be monitored and support will be offered to them through visits or other means. The fourth phase of post practicum course will be for a period of two weeks. During this phase the participants will come back to the training Institute and share their field experiences and learning’s. On successful completion of the course the participants will be awarded a certificate
9.Learning Methodology.
Various learning tools will be used to facilitate learning. The residential learning would include lectures, group discussions, participants interaction with each other and assignments. The participants will be encouraged to make use of the library. The field based learning would include opportunities to observe practical implementation of community development concepts. The community based resource persons would share their practical experiences. For experiential learning the participants will be given field assignments to discover the new knowledge by interacting with the communities.
10Field Learning Plan:
The community members are involved in each stage and process of the training and learning experience. The field in the project area (past and existing) provides practice and relevant experience to the participants. To back up the experience of the participants in various issues, they will be taken to observe and interact with community at model projects run by other I/NGOs and government.
11 After Training Support:
The trainees can avail consultation and support after the completion of the training and while they implement their program. They can avail this support by visiting training center, visiting present project implementation area, through communication or at times a resource person may visit them.
12Maximum number of participants per batch:
20 participants representing from CBOS, I/NGOs and local Churches
13Venue of the Training:
TransformationDevelopment Center of Share and Care Nepal at Badegoan, Lalitpur.
14The language use in training:
Training will be held in Nepali language. There will be provision for use of bi-lingual language for trainees with special needs.
15Resource Persons and Faculty:
Our resource persons are academically qualified with rich practical experience in community development. We have community based resource persons, institution based resource persons and outside experts within the country and outside the country.
