Prakash develops himself as a model farmer
Prakash Thapa is 27 years old resident of Kukhure village-8 Mahakali Village Development Committee. He has four family members including his parents, wife and son. The main occupation of his family is agriculture and livestock. Prakash stayed in city Kathmandu and works in marketing for few years. Later he is not satisfied with his job so decided to go back home and support family in agriculture.

Governance

Share and Care is registered in 1994 with District Administration Office in Lalitpur and affiliated to Social Welfare Council (SWC) in Kathmandu.

General Assembly (AG)
The General Assembly composed of general members from different professions i.e. church representatives, social workers, health service providers and development workers, is the supreme body of SCN. All major policies, decisions and strategies are approved and mandated by the GA, which meets annually. Attendance of at least 51% of the general members will be the required quorum for organizing the GA.  The chairperson of the EC chars the GA.

Executive Committee (EC)

The executive committee formed through election of seven members from among the GA members, to oversee the management of SCN on their behalf serves for three years. The EC meets every 4 months to review the progress, make decisions on strategic issues, review the implementation previous decisions, resource mobilization and ensures that the management and activities of the organization are in accordance with the mandate.

Internal Management Committee (IMC)

In order to oversee the smooth implementation of the annual plans through the optimum mobilization of the available resources the IMC is constituted from among the senior staff members headed by the Executive Director (ED). The IMC also reviews the standards policies of SCN and makes recommendation to the GA through the EC for when needed for the smooth functioning of SCN.


Departmental Committee (DC)

With the aim of supporting the systematic handing of day-to-day project administrative responsibilities, three departments are created (Program, Admin & HR, and Financial) headed by respective experts as unit heads. This is a new development within SCN as the organization’s activities have grown significantly.   The DC’s shall meet each quarter to review the departmental activities in detail, make plans for the next quarter and also function as a forum for sharing issues and learning to guide each other in terms of planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and discussing ideas and suggestions for policy formulation and effective management of the department.  The three departmental committees:

a.      Program Management Committee

b.      Finance Management Committee

c.       Admin & Human Resource Management Committee

 

Project Management Committee (PMC)
Every project has a PMC under the leadership of project team leader. The committee is constituted to represent project staff, community members and representatives from the central office. The committee is responsible for effective planning, implementation and review of the project activities in accordance procedures and policies.


Staff Meeting

Staff meetings are held each month in the project area by headed by the Project Team Leader, with the purpose of reviewing previous month’s activities, learnings, challenges faced and together planning the activities and resources for the month.
