Health and Sanitation

Health care is still a priority issue in Nepal.  The quality of health services and facilities in remote communities of Nepal are either poor or unavailable. Health care delivery and programmes to improve health and sanitation have mostly failed to reach the poor and the needy.  Many organizations are focusing on health awareness but very few of them are focusing on how to improve the health care delivery system and how to increase access to health care.  There is a need to improve the delivery and management of primary health care services.

Key Objective:

Health and sanitation of communities in the project areas is improved.

Activities:

  • Sensitizing right holders on health issues and equipping the duty bearers in service delivery
  • Mobilization and Strengthening capacity of local health care providers and local health institutions
  • Strengthening management system, promotion of good governance and effective service delivery
  • Integrate HIV/AIDS awareness activities in all program activities and initiate supporting program for HIV/AIDS infected and affected people
  • Promote home remedies and herbal medicine.
  • Enable access to safe drinking water
  • Create awareness on sanitation and promote use of toilets at village level
