  • Awareness through mobile ring tone

    The major use of mobile is observed to; listen music, play ringbones, capture video and photographs, which is often meant for entertainment. To link this entertainment with sensitization and awareness rising, a team of Share and Care registered an awareness song[i] on human trafficking in Namaste, N cell and UTL ring tone list. Those who set up this ring tone will be sensitizing people who make them call through their ring tone song. It is expected that number of people from community, stakeholder and line agencies will be informed through the song.

Urmila Proud To Be Members of Women Group
Urmila Chhepang (25 years old) is a resident of Handikhola VDC of Makwanpur district. When she was young she had to work very hard to earn for living. Her mother was not healthy (often get sick) and her father was drunkard. So she had to manage for living. She thought about going to India for the job when she could not save her mother.


Nawang Singh Gurung


In 1978, just after completion of Civil Overseer course, he joined "Butwal Hydro Power" as a Construction Supervisor and later in Integrated Community Development & Health Program of United Mission to Nepal's as a Section In-charge and promoted to Development Manager.

After completion of Masters in Community Economic Development from USA, he worked as an Assistant Program Director and Program Director of UMN/CDHP.

In 2001, Nawang joined "Future Generations international USA" and worked as "Sustainable Development Specialist" and after his second "Master's in Applied Community Change and Conservation" from USA, he was given a responsibility of Development Director Future Generations, TAR China. At present he is also a consultant of India and Pakistan.

He has participated and trained on special technical skill about Hydro Power construction, Rural community drinking water system, Eco-Tourism income generations, Prevention health, Agro-forest management, public sanitation and environment conservation, micro income generation cooperative management and leadership and organizational management.

He has written and published number of manual and booklets such as Rural Community Portable Drinking System (Community Water Technician and Care taker), Pendeba (volunteer) training manual include (Health prevention, nutrition, sanitation, ecotourism, income generation, kitchen gardening, tree plantation and development concept and process) and Highlight of Pendeba program and four prefectures of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
