After LLE Class, The Women Started To Built The Toilet

Most of the people living in wards 1, 2 and 4 of Chhap VDC of Nuwakot District are very marginalized and backward in all aspects. Nobody have toilets in village and children are irregular at school. Women are also not educated and don't care to their children. They used to go on the way and near to home for toilet. Their children also learnt the lesson of parents. They don't know about use of toilet and its benefits.

When Share and Care Nepal, ABCD program sensitized the situation of village then implemented different program on education and awareness campaigns. During the Life long education (LLE) classes, the women realized the need of Women Action Group for community action and they formed a WAG. After formation of WAG they discussed on sanitation and use of toilets. Gathering all community groups organized one cultural and sanitation awareness program about use of toilets and its importance.

The members of the WAG are so much excited and interested to built the more toilet and use it. They have not discussed to build but made a resolution for each member should have one toilet at her home. Then in wards 1, 2, 4 and 5, all people started to build a toilet at their home. As their commitment, they mobilized community and continuing to build toilets. Till now 27 members of WAG have been built toilets. There are increasing numbers of toilet users and they announced in ward 2 "KHULLA DISHA PISAB MUKKTA CHHETRA" Open toilet prohibited areas. This is like a major success in the community for the first time with the Community participation and ownership.
