Sita Become Mid-Wife Nurse After Training

Sita Shrestha, 35 years old is a Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHV) of Talakhu VDC of Nuwakot District. She is working as health volunteers for 5 years. Her major task is to immunize mother and child in her community. She had no idea about other health services due to lack of training. In her village, if somebody need to deliver the baby than she has to find health post in-charge. If there are multiple deliveries in the community at the same time, then there will be the problem. So, community people prefer to go to Kathmandu city for delivery, which is very costly. So, she had a dream to help in baby delivery locally.

She becomes a member of FCHV groups, which was formed by the initiation of Share and Care Nepal, ABCD Project. She got opportunity to participate in various health orientation and trainings such as safe motherhood and safe delivery conducted by Share and Care Nepal. On the basis of learning of training, she has delivered 3 babies in her community, which was her most memorable and great achievement in her life. She feels so proud to share her successful delivery. Due to these safe deliveries, she has good will in the community and appreciated by the mother.

Now, She has become mid wife nurse and everyone have faith on her skill and confidence. Sita express ''I had succeeded to make safe delivery of babies in the community; it was my dream to help pregnant women during delivery, which has been fulfilled now. So, I appreciate the health trainings to us by Share and Care Nepal. I wish to attend more training in future''.
