Prakash develops himself as a model farmer
Prakash Thapa is 27 years old resident of Kukhure village-8 Mahakali Village Development Committee. He has four family members including his parents, wife and son. The main occupation of his family is agriculture and livestock. Prakash stayed in city Kathmandu and works in marketing for few years. Later he is not satisfied with his job so decided to go back home and support family in agriculture.

“ I Gain Courage Through Group’s Support”

Thirty two years old of Rita Jimba have 2 daughters and one son. She lives at Handikhola VDC-4, Chapal village of Makwanpur district. She had got marriage in her childhood, so she learnt to manage home in spite of study.

2 years before, her husband died due to his problem in head. She collected about two lakh fifty five thousand rupees from eleven different people in community for treatment of husband. It took long time to collect money because her family was so poor, no economic sources. She tried to save her husband but all went in vain. After death of husband she was hated by family. She faces so many difficulties by family. She forced to stay in separate from there.

After then, her responsibility increased for children and to return money which was used in treatment of her husband. To minimize this problem she went in India for the job. But she was unknown about job. Finally she got the job in cartoon factory to packet the cartoon. She didn't earn money of her expectation. So Rita returned back to home with only Rs 25,000/ rupees. But her attendant at home was not the solution of problem. Again she planned to next country for the job. So took Rs. 20,000/ from the money lender.

At the same time, Chapal women action group got the information about her plan to go at foreign country. This action group was formed under the Human Liberty Project of Share and Care Nepal. The main purpose of the group was to minimize human trafficking and unsafe employment. As information, group member went at her home to visit and discussed about her problem. Staff of Share and Care also went there and gave counseling regularly. She was also involved in the Life Relevant Education. Then she affiliated in women action group. She reminds, internalized and shared in group the difficulties and torture in foreign country. Finally she decided to stay at own village with family and start to pig farm. The money which was taken for foreign employment and Rs. 10000/ from seed money support, she bought baby of pig and preparation of hut.

She has now 4 numbers of pigs. They are growing day by day. She says "my aim is to collect Rs 30,000/ profit within 6 months. Then I will pay the money which was taken and will invest for my child's study". She has new energy and idea. She left her plan of foreign employment. She is starting to involve and participate in community program.
