Prakash develops himself as a model farmer
Prakash Thapa is 27 years old resident of Kukhure village-8 Mahakali Village Development Committee. He has four family members including his parents, wife and son. The main occupation of his family is agriculture and livestock. Prakash stayed in city Kathmandu and works in marketing for few years. Later he is not satisfied with his job so decided to go back home and support family in agriculture.

"No Worry for Shelter Now"


Jitu Tamang, 39 years old of Chhap VDC, Nuwakot is living with her wife, one son and a daughter. He works in his field to feed his family and work as labor in the dry season.


On 25 April 2015, earthquake collapsed his house, cowshed and toilet as well. After the houses were damaged by earthquake, three families of his village along with his lived together in one tarpaulin shelter.


During the monsoon they have no jobs for income so he was worried about how to manage money to buy shelter for his family.


After few days of earthquake, Share and Care Nepal (SCN) visited their village and provided and after assessment and management of all logistics, SCN distributed 2 bundles of zinc sheets and 5 kg of GI wire to each household to build a temporary shelter. It was big help for the family and after 6 days of hard work, they completed their temporary shelter and now started living there.


He states, "Share and Care's relief materials helped us in such a time of need, when we have no choices. The support was rapid, effective and organized than from our government. We now can live safely and at least I don't have to worry for shelter now."
