Location : Nuwakot District
Duration : 3 months
Status : Ongoing

Humanitarian Assistance and Rehabilitation Project (HARP)

Share and Care Nepal’s (SCN) three month Emergency Relief Assistance for Earthquake Affected Communities in Nepal Project will include the distribution of critical food and non-food items to address the immediate food security, shelter, and WASH needs of households whose homes were destroyed in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake which shook Nepal on April 25, 2015. The project will assist households to begin recovery of their livelihoods through input provision, (for agriculture and poultry farming), and training support. The immediate distribution activities will benefit 5,692 households in four districts and 20 Village Development Communities (VDCs) in some of the hardest hit areas of Nepal. The livelihoods activities will be focused on the 8VDCs in Nuwakot District where some 77% of homes were damaged or destroyed, and where SCN has ongoing development programs and well-established systems and networks.
