Where We Work
Community Based Health and Development Project, Lubhu and Lamatar
Share and Care Nepal's programme are concentrated primarily in the rural VDC outside the Kathmandu Valley where the poor and marginalised are concentrated and their needs not addressed by Nepal Government or other NGOs because they are only a distance away from the capital city of Kathmandu. The proposed project is located in 2 VDCs (namely Lubhu and Lamatar VDCs of the North Eastern part of Laliptur District.
The project area is heterogeneous in respect to geography, ethnicity, language and culture. Majority of the population are of ethnic origins (Tamang, Magar, Rai, Gharti, Brahmin, Chhetri, Sarki, (cobbler), Damai (tailor) and Kami (Blacksmith), Newar).

Specific Objectives
The overall aim of the project is to facilitate a process of strengthening the less privileged communities to improve their quality of life and be able to mobilize the available resources.
Major objectives of the Project
- To facilitate the implementation of the Nepal Government's essential health care services to the community.
- To enable communities to recognize the role of women in the society and initiate empowerment activities and non formal education.
- To raise awareness among the community to control the spread of HIV and AIDS.
- To construct community safe drinking water system with community participation.
- To build the capacity of the communities to increase their abilities to increase food production and accessibilities.
- To strengthening the capacity of the community in disaster preparedness and disaster response
